How it works?
The job consists on teaching over the Internet, in real time, to university and/or highschool students.
Latinhire recruits, train and manages teams of tutors for companies providing the service of online tutoring. The details of this job vary depending on factors like: subject, client and level, but the following are some common characteristics:
- If you are selected as an online tutor for one of our clients, you will be able to define your work schedule from a set of possible work shifts. At the beginning of each shift, you will have to connect to our client's system, which is like MSN Messenger, plus special functions to do online tutoring.
- Once you are connected to the system, the students will start to request tutoring sessions with you. Sometimes they will come with a specific question, other times you will have to teach a pre-defined class.
- Each time you receive a request, a bell rings, to let you know that you have to accept the student and start the tutoring session.
- You accept the request and the session starts. You greet the student and take advantage of the tools provided by the system (virtual whiteboard, chat, math tool, etc) to give the best class possible.
- When the class is over, you say goodbye to the student and close the session. You will be again in the tutors queue, waiting for new students' requests. If your shift is over, you just log out from the system.
- At the end of the month we compute the total time that you worked and send you a wire transfer for the payment of your services.
We pay for the time working with students and the time waiting for them.
